Latest research from Carers UK reveals that unpaid carers across the country are extremely worried about the cost of living crisis which is having a damaging effect on their health and wellbeing. Over 13,400 carers took part in the survey, giving us a snapshot of unpaid care in the UK.

National research out today shows an alarming lack of support, coupled with a dramatic rise in time spent caring, is leaving thousands of young carers feeling ‘lonely’, ‘exhausted’, ‘worried’, 'burned-out' and ‘stressed’.

It is estimated that the number of unpaid carers has risen from 9.1 million to 13.6 million since the pandemic, yet the weight on this ‘hidden army’ prevails

The government has proposed plans for a Health and Social Care Levy and are set to inject £36 billion into the NHS and the caring industry over the next few years
